Energy The energy value indicates to the body as a fuel, requirements needed vary depending on the amount needed for physical activity under a variety of circumstances. Body weight is an important factor in determining how much energy we need, since more energy will be needed to sustain and move a greater body mass.
Muscle Growth Muscular stimulus. Resistance training (weight training) is needed to make the muscles work, use energy and cause microscopic damage to the muscle fibers. Rest is also a major factor during the recovery phase that the muscles repair the microscopic damage and grow.
Strength Muscle strength is what happens when the nervous system communicates a message to the muscle fibers to contract so as to produce force. Often the force produced by a muscle contraction is against resistance. Dumbells, theraband or tubing, or something heavy to lift or carry all qualify as resistance to muscle contraction.
Endurance The time span between the beginning of physical activity by an individual and the termination because of exhaustion.
Nutrition The foods you eat provide the energy your body needs to function, your body needs to be fed energy-providing foods every day. Carbohydrates are broken down into individual glucose which is your body’s favorite form of energy. If you don’t get enough carbohydrates, your body can make glucose from protein or fat and if you get too many carbohydrates, your body is very good at storing them as fat. Protein in the foods you eat is broken down into individual amino acids. Your body uses the amino acids to build and repair the various parts of your body. Your muscles contain lots of protein, and you need to replenish that protein through your diet.
Weight Loss A good fat burner will do three things well. First, your stored fats will be burned for energy. Second, your fat cells must be broken down and mobilised. Third, we need to “speed” the metabolic rate to “burn” stored fat and inhibit fat cells from enlarging. Encouraging rapid fat loss is the most important element of weight loss, which is normally mostly water weight and muscle loss.
